Dressed for Winter

This is the willow arch I made this fall (thanks for the willows Dirk!). Right now it is all dressed up for the winter and adorning my front door. It is about 8 ft. tall and would make a great backdrop or entry decor.

My decor wouldn't be complete without adding a little festiveness to my old bench. Now I'm ready for a little winter fun!

The "princess bride"

This was such a fun reception to decorate for. Her colors were black and pink, and I knew she loved roses, but other than that I pretty much had free creative reign as the brides only request was that it have a somewhat formal feel. I leaned toward a flowy, fairytale look and having all sons, I really enjoyed the fluff and frills of decorating for this "princess bride".

These little princesses seemed to like the decor as well.

This shows detail of the back drop a little better. Click picture for close up.

Tapering candlesticks surrounded by rose petals and pink wrapped chocolate hearts adorn the tables.

A little frill over- looks the gift area.

Flowing white chiffon drapes from a large pink heart hanging on a wreath stand to lure guests toward the serving table.
Black paper heart cutouts, rose petals and ribbon mingle above scrapbook pages inviting guests to write their wishes for the newlyweds.

The very beginning

This was the beginnings of a business I didn't even know I wanted to start. A friend of mine, who's son was getting married, was trying to come up with a backdrop and decorating ideas. And since I enjoy being creative, I offered to help. Putting a different twist on some borrowed inspiration, I assembled three old doors, complete with antique hardware.
The bride wanted it to be very simple, airy, and fun! I knew I'd hit it right on the nose when I got rave reviews and 2 offers to rent the backdrop. Realizing how much fun I had had & what a creative fix it was for me, I decided I was on to something!
